Microbloggers are bombarding the Twitter account of San Francisco 49ers player “Kyle Williams” with hostile and threatening tweets after the American football player fumbled the ball in the last play in a match against the New York Giants.
“It’s not often you can say that a player SINGLEHANDEDLY lost a game. Kyle Williams did. I don’t care if he feels worse than me,” read one of the less offensive tweets directed at Kyle Williams.
Level-headed Twitterers fired back, “The people tweeting death threats to Kyle Williams and his family aren’t giving 49ers fans a bad name. They give humanity a bad name,” “Wow just seen some of the twitter abuse aimed at 49ers Kyle Williams. It’s disgusting and completely uncalled for” and “People should now leave Kyle Williams alone, a win or loss is determined as a team not a single player!!”
