Paul McCartney marries third wife, Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving
Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney has wed New York businesswoman and heiress Nancy Shevell at a ceremony in central London.
Twitterers report that the bride and groom wore custom-made Stella McCartney wedding outfits and served guests a vegetarian meal at the reception.
Microbloggers joke that “Paul McCartney is going to be pissed when he realizes his new wife spends twice as much on shoes as his last wife” and send the couple their not-so-heartfelt congratulations: “Congrats to Paul McCartney and his new bride! All you need is love — and monogrammed towels.”
Canadian microbloggers are celebrating Thanksgiving and their American counterparts are observing Columbus Day on October 10.
At the top of Twitter’s most talked about topics are the hashtags “#MyFavoriteSongsEver,” “#ThingsPeopleShouldNotDo” and “#NoHayNadaComoDecir.”
“Make Me Proud” is fourth on Twitter’s list of trending topics, the name of British Conservative Party politician “Liam Fox” is seventh and “Goodnight Twitter” and “Guten Morgen” (“Good morning” in German) fill ninth and tenth positions on the list.
